"Free accounts can host calls with 3 or more participants for up to 60 minutes" however one-on-one calls are still free for 24 hours.

Meet is Google’s online video conferencing app that used to be unlimited to users is now enforcing a 60-minute cap for free accounts. This means free accounts can host calls with 3 or more participants for up to 60 minutes only. Free users must set up a new meeting link to continue conferencing for another hour.

Google Meet was online for everyone in April 2020, but call limits were not supposed to be implemented until September 2020. It was later extended until June 30, resulting in the current reimplementation of the limits.

With the new implementation and restrictions, users with large group calls would require to buy the Google Workplace subscription which is not yet available in other countries.
